How are Kin's Domains Settlements or Villages different from Eco-villages?
One way in which the Kin's Domain concept differs from the previous Eco-village model is by providing for each family on a Kin's Domain a minimum of one hectare, or 2.47 acres of land. A Kin's Domain can stand alone, or be part of a Kin's Domain settlement or village. Each village consists of multiple 1 hectare or larger plots owned by each family or domain settler. Another difference is, in the past Eco-village or commune model each individual was dependent on the collective always functioning and properly working together to meet the basic needs of all its members – especially in matters of food production. On a Kin's Domain each family/settler's goal is to become self sufficient, to stand on their own, with the surrounding domains creating a strong supportive network and community. Of course, there is a great need for working together in a Kin's community, and this vital work must begin before even a single person builds their own unique domain. Much forethought and planning is needed. In each village of Kin's Domains there will most likely be land that is shared by the collective community. This shared land could include such areas as: * a shared lake or large body of water * a school * a community meeting center * community agricultural lands or pasture * a visitor’s center * forest lands * riverside * roadway access, and more. With the flourishing of many Kin's Domains worldwide the responsibility of stewardship of the Earth is put back into the hands of the individual in a pragmatic and manageable way. With many people taking personal responsibility for the restoration of re-balancing the Earth’s natural systems the burden can be taken off the governments to provide all the solutions. The people themselves can take active participation in resolving the word’s many ails. When each Man of a nation can stand on his own then the nation as a whole can stand strong. Everyone who wishes should be provided the opportunity to responsibly steward and own a piece of their home, the Earth.
The Kin's Domain is presented inAnastasia (book 1) and the Ringing Cedars Series
(presently 9 books) written by Vladimir Megre. The series of books presents a unique perspective on history, society, family, education, spirituality and man’s relationship to nature. It presents some unique solutions to problems that are present throughout the world. Well worth reading. A Kin's Domain essentially means family home, though has far more to it than just being a home. The difference between the Kin's Domain and the current “family home” is that the land the Kin's Domain is based upon would have to be sufficiently large to sustain most food, water and building materials for the family living upon it in perpetuity, generation after generation after generation. The recommended size is at minimum one hectare (2.47 acres) . A Kin's Domain can stand alone, or be part of a Kin's Domain settlement or village. Each village consists of multiple 1 hectare or larger plots owned by each family or domain settler. Why one hectare? Because this is a sufficient minimum amount of land sizeable enough to sustain the basic life-long and multi-generational needs of each family or domain settler. This is an amount of land that can be stewarded sustainability by the efforts of an individual or family, without becoming too difficult to manage and that can be managed without the need for heavy industrial agricultural machinery or harmful chemicals and fertilizers or pesticides and without the need for reliance on declining fossils fuels. On a Kin's Domain each plot is created with the specific goal of being a self sufficient area that can support all the basic human needs of the owner including life-long food production, shelter and water supply. Each domain is designed with the specific intent of surrounding the home by a supportive natural Eco-system that will additionally support the domain owner by providing the cleaner air created by oxygen producing plant life, creation of forest land for the optional use of timber for seasonal home heating needs etc and a wide variety of other plant life with a focus on edible perennials as well as plants that can be grown for medicinal purposes. Ideally a Kin's Domain would be free from taxes and owned outright, with hereditary title in perpetuity, the Kin's Domain being passed on to the next of kin. A Kin's Domain would have some or all of the following features
People plant their garden and build their home according to their heart’s desire, in the way they find most pleasing. Although it would take quite an amount of work to establish, as well as many years (in some cases) for the plant and animal systems within the domain to reach equilibrium, it is possible when done well. To build and create their own Kin's Domain empowers people to feel and use their creative capacity again - it re-connects them to nature. The work you do to your own land - the land of your family is most enjoyable. It is meaningful - and you know and feel how much the land appreciates your love and care. It is not like you spend your live forces for anyone else's dream (eg. the company you work for, the boss you have ... ) you spend it to your very own Space of Love. You co-create with your family - dream and work together. Sharing the bliss of seeds sprouting in your garden, the happiness of your first harvest - the gratitude and love for this place, the earth that nourishes you so generous. This flooding of silent joy in your heart, when you watch your children play in the garden, the space of love you created. This is the end of separation and the start of connection. - What a beautiful and nourishing thought.
A Kin's Domain is not about spending all day working the land for your next feed, or spending hours grinding grain so you can bake tomorrow’s loaf of bread. It’s about creating a self sustaining system that provides all you need. It’s about working with nature, so that nature will work for you.
Kin's Domains are presented in practice by hundreds of Families around the world. The most of them are located in Russia.
